Do you have hair accessories and bath toys everywhere in the bathroom? Can you never seem to find anything inside your deep cabinets and drawers? Adding some simple baskets, drawer organizers, or even shelves, can help in a big way!
The first thing you need to do to get any bathroom organized is declutter. Take everything out of the cabinets and drawers and wipe out the inside. Throw away expired products and get rid of any items you no longer use (such as hair ties and head bands that are out of style or worn out).

Next, you need to find a home for everything you decide to keep. Designate a place for extra toilet paper, cleaning supplies, accessories, bath toys, hair products, make up, styling tools, medicine, tooth brushes/paste, etc. Try to keep things separated by purpose by using baskets or drawer organizers.
If this is a bathroom that your kids use, I recommend that you label anything with a word or picture if you are hoping to teach your child to put items away on their own. Take a lesson from a preschool classroom: EVERYTHING is labeled with a picture and a word! Despite what you may think, even preschoolers are capable of picking up after themselves. It just takes consistency in expectations.
Here is what I did in my bathrooms:
I put rolled up white wash cloths in a basket on the counter for the kids to use to wash their face before bed.
I organized hair accessories in separate interlocking baskets inside the cabinet. I separated them by headbands, elastic headbands, barrettes and hair ties.
I added drawer organizers for tooth brushes, tooth paste, flossers, deodorant and lip balm.
I placed a basket in the cabinet for storing bath toys. This is actually a wash basin that we brought home from the hospital when one of our children was born. 🙂
I put a carrying tote under the sink for cleaning supplies to make it easy to carry supplies to the other bathrooms.
I cleared the counter of unnecessary items so that only frequently-used items were left. This master bathroom is SMALL, so I need all the counter space I can get!
I used mason jars to store cotton swabs and cotton balls attractively on top of the toilet, and I added a pretty tray to dress it up. (The mason jars have the silver lid still screwed on, I just took off the top to make it easy to quickly reach your hand in.)
I have a towel rack over the door for some additional towel space and to hang my bath robe. If you have a small bathroom as well, or several people showering in the same bathroom, you may want to add one of these as well!
Under the sink, I added a shelf to make it easier to see what is in the back and to add some vertical storage. I added a tray to keep hair accessories.
I put a tray in each drawer to keep toothbrushes, tooth paste, and floss.
I added baskets to my side of the cabinet to keep my makeup and other beauty supplies organized.
I added a basket for tampons to save space storing these instead of keeping all of the boxes in there.
I have a hair-dryer holder that hangs over the cabinet door. This is were I keep my hair-dryer, hair brush, and hair products.
