Today I want to fill all of you in on a healthy meal guide I’ve tried recently. If you are looking for an easy way to eat healthier, this is a great solution!
Often times, the idea of making a lifestyle change is overwhelming. We might ask, “Where do I begin?” or “Will it be too much work or too difficult to change my habits?”
This is what drew me to purchase a healthy meal guide. I’m sick of feeling crummy after I eat. I’m done with putting on weight despite my efforts. And I’m tired of feeling tired. Over the last year, I’ve taken back control of my health and started to eat more real food. I’ve seen an increase in my energy levels, as well as a decrease in my weight.
However, eating healthy all of the time can get hard, especially when you have to meal plan week after week! I had found myself in a rut. I was tired of making all of the same things over and over, and that was causing me to drift back to my old habits. I needed some new healthy recipes, and fast!
If this is you when it comes to trying to eat healthier, give the SimplyMade Seasonal Meal Guide a try. You can check out SimplyMade’s website HERE. According to their website, “SimplyMade started out of the belief that getting healthy starts from the inside and will reflect on the outside. There is a huge connection between what goes into your body and how you feel. And it all starts with eating real food.”
At the time of publishing this post, the seasonal meal guide costs only $19. This is a great value for all that is included.
Here is what you get when you purchase SimplyMade’s Seasonal Meal Guide:
- 75 healthy recipes (each recipe is gluten-free, and over 50 of the recipes are dairy-free)
- One month of weekly meal plans
- One month of weekly shopping lists
- Recommended products to make healthy eating easier
- Additional tips to make cooking and meal planning easier
- Access to SimplyMade health coaches for additional support
In addition, SimplyMade promises that their recipes are simple, quick, and flavorful. We made most of the recipes in the meal guide so far, and I can assure you that this is the case. I am not a natural cook. I need a well-written recipe in order for my food to turn out. These recipes were all so easy, and many dinners were ready in less than 30 minutes.
And as for being flavorful, these recipes fit the bill. Sometimes when you think of healthy eating you think of bland, boring food. These recipes were full of flavor, and they did a great job choosing recipes that sound good during the winter season. Who knew comfort food could be healthy?!
Here are the details of my experience with buying and using the meal guide:
Purchasing/Downloading the Seasonal Meal Guide
In order to purchase the seasonal meal guide, you simply need to go to THIS PAGE on their website and click the green “Purchase” button on the bottom. I purchased the winter meal guide through PayPal, then I just needed to download the file to my computer and save it in a place I would remember.
The Best Parts About the Seasonal Meal Guide
First of all, it was so nice to not have to plan meals for a whole month (or longer if you choose to repeat the plan)! The plan includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks, so all I had to do was take the shopping list to the store and purchase anything I didn’t already have on hand.
Second, it was easy to customize. If you need to arrange the recipes according to your schedule or your family’s tastes, the guide includes a place to personalize your meal plan for the week and write your own grocery list.
Third, the recipes were good! They had great variety and never got boring. There were definitely a few recipes I was wary of, but they turned out to be delicious! Try not to shy away from trying something new, but at the same time, feel free to swap out a veggie for a different veggie your family enjoys. All I can say is that I surprised myself in terms of what I liked (and what my family liked)!
Fourth, the recipes were filling. Sometimes when you are trying to eat healthier you find yourself feeling like you are starving. These recipes were packed with protein, so I didn’t need to snack between meals. But for good measure, the meal guide included healthy snacks, so when I was in the mood to eat, I had a healthy, go-to snack.
Our Favorite Recipes
My family loved the Easy Crack Slaw, Chicken Alfredo with Bacon and Broccoli, the Chicken Parmesan, and the Strawberry Smoothie.
My husband loved the Italian Sausage Soup the best. That and the Creamy Blueberry Smoothie (pictured below). We ate the Take Along Trail Mix way more than just the days planned. We’re addicted. ;P
My favorite recipes were the Sausage Veggie Pizza, Crock Pot Taco Soup, and the Creamy Blueberry Smoothie.
If you choose to purchase the seasonal meal guide, here is what I learned from experience that I’ll pass on to you:
- You need to pay attention to how much each recipe makes and adjust the shopping list accordingly to fit your family. The first week, I didn’t watch this closely enough and didn’t have enough food left over for lunch the next day like I was supposed to.
- Look at how long it takes to make each recipe and plan accordingly. There are times when you will need to do meal prep ahead of time, such as when you are bringing a meal to work for lunch.
Is purchasing this Seasonal Meal Guide the right decision for you?
I would say that the Seasonal Meal Guide is worth your time and investment if any of these are true of you:
- You want to eat healthier, but you don’t know enough healthy recipes to do so.
- You want to plan meals, but have a hard time finding the time to do so.
- You want to add some new recipes to your meal planning rotation.
- You want to eat more real food.
- You are unsure how to replace your processed food with real food.
